Glossy photo paper
Glossy paper has a coated surface that creates a smooth, mirror-like layer.
Glossy paper parameters
The surface reflects light intensely - the photo shines. Colors are deep, saturation is high, and contrast is at its maximum. Blacks are deep and whites are bright. Weight: 160-280g/m². The surface is sensitive to fingerprints - touching it leaves marks. Prone to scratches.

Photo paper formats
A4 format (210x297mm)
A4 is the most popular format. All home photo printers support A4. It is the optimal size for single photos - presentations, portfolios, and 21x30cm frames. Smaller formats can be cut from an A4 sheet - 10x15cm and 13x18cm. MEDIARANGE A4 packs are available in 20, 50, and 100 sheets.
10x15cm format
10x15cm is the traditional photo format. Its 2:3 proportions match digital camera sensors. MEDIARANGE 10x15cm packs are available in 50 and 100 sheets. Printing is done on printers with a rear feeder (borderless printing). Economical - low ink consumption and fast printing.
A3 format (297x420mm)

Printing on photo paper
Printer settings
Select the paper profile in the printer settings - glossy photo paper, matte photo paper, or satin photo paper. The profile determines the amount of ink and drying time. An incorrect profile may result in too much ink (soaked paper) or too little ink (pale colors). Set the highest print quality (best quality, photo quality, maximum dpi). Use a resolution of 2880x1440 dpi or higher. Turn off fast printing (draft mode). Enable color management.
File preparation
Minimum resolution: 300 dpi. For A4, this is 2480x3508 pixels; for 10x15cm, this is 1200x1800 pixels. Below 300 dpi, details appear blurred. sRGB color space - the standard used by most photos from cameras. Adobe RGB - a wider color space used in professional photography. A calibrated monitor ensures that the colors on screen match the colors in print.
Photo print durability
Factors affecting durability
Durability depends on the ink, paper, and storage conditions. Pigment ink is more resistant to light than dye-based ink and can last 100+ years. Dye-based ink produces more intense colors, with durability of 10-30 years. Acid-free paper has a neutral pH and prevents yellowing. Archival quality paper guarantees durability of 100+ years.
Storing photo prints
Humidity: 30-50 percent. Stable temperature: 18-22°C. Avoid direct sunlight - UV light fades colors. Photos should be framed behind UV-filtering glass. Use acid-free albums. Do not touch the surface of photos with your fingers - hold them by the edges. Properly stored photos on archival paper can last 100+ years.

Standard photo paper is designed for inkjet printing. The surface is coated with an ink-absorbing layer - micropores absorb ink droplets instantly. Gel or ceramic coating. Paper for laser printing
Laser photo paper must withstand temperatures of 200°C during toner fusing. It has a special heat-resistant coating. Photo quality is lower than with inkjet printing - gradients are less smooth and details are less sharp. Printing is faster and cheaper per page. Durability is high - toner is water-resistant. Suitable for documents with graphics and business presentations with photos. Not recommended for high-quality photography.
